I have had the great pleasure of working with LightStream since the summer of 2019. At that time, the District had a MPLS system with a local provider for almost a decade and the contract was expiring so a new RFP was issued for District WAN services. The RFP process provided an opportunity for vendors to meet our technical requirement for a specified cost. LightStream provided a response that exceeded our expectations. Their proposal was detailed, thorough, and complete. The response provided for an environment we had not considered till that point. It was very exciting to see LightStream generate this vision for my network’s potential.
Ultimately, I awarded LightStream the contract to provide all internal connections between my buildings resulting in our own private fiber WAN. The construction process was very similar to every other construction project as it never goes exactly as planned. I do not judge a company solely on their ability to plan around issues, but also how they address issues when they are discovered. The LightStream leadership, provided consistent project feedback as well as up front conversations about potential risks.Any and all issues that arose were quickly addressed. I never felt as if I was in a position to defend my questions or argue about installation specifications. Lightstream presented the best solution, even if it was not the cheapest solution, while honoring our agreed upon contract and not seeking additional dollars from the District.
